Last night Calum Young made his debut at Valor AM Series: 7 in a C Class bout against Renegade MMA's Matt Rettalick. Calum did a great job and showed the tremendous heart we all know he has in a very tough fight. He fought his way through a lot of tough positions and didn't back down against an opponent who had superior hands (Matt is actually Valor Welter Weight champ Callan Potter's Muay Thai coach and sparring partner). Despite the fight not going the way he wanted, I am really proud of Calum and I think he is a great role model for anyone aspiring to fight.
Thanks of course to everyone who helped Calum to train, roll and spar in the lead up to this event, that is what makesHMAA a great team. Huge thanks also to Mat Stennings and David Leighton for all the work they have done developing the Muay Thai game of Calum and everyone else at HMAA.
