Thiago's first visit to Hobart

Sunday the 22 SEP 2013 saw the first seminar with head coach Thiago Stefanutti to be held at Maromba South. Thiago treated us to some of the latest concepts and techniques from high guard and spider guard and then rolled with everyone on the mat. It is truly a privilege to have regular access to a coach who is not only possessed of high level skills and knowledge, but also genuinely cares about his students. After the seminar Thiago and Maromba South Coach, Adam Newton awarded the following promotions. White Belt 1st stripes were awarded to Bayden Mandich, Jason Knowles and Toya Page, White Belt 2nd stripes were awarded to Brooke Allen and Nathan “Joey” Rainbird, Anthony Goggins and Ryan Mazengarb received their 3rd stripe and Tim Nissink was awarded his 4th stripe. Both Kieryn Wright-Meyer and Deb Cameron were awarded their Blue Belt 3rd stripe.

In addition to all of the stripes awarded, long time student and friend Adam Mansfield was awarded his well-earned Blue Belt. Adam is the first student of Maromba South to have received his Blue Belt in our new academy and I can’t think of anyone better to have that honour, congratulations Adam!
